iTunes App Store celebrates 5th birthday making free these top selling apps

With more than 50 billion downloads reached, iTunes App Store celebrates 5th year of activity. First, Apple sent to journalist several posters showing on a timeline all the major hits it has reached over the past years since it has opened.

To give a head start to celebrations of such a milestone, many from the most top selling apps ever on the App Store have gone free for a limited time. These titles ranges from Infinity Blade II, highly acclaimed RPG running Epic Games’ Unreal engine, Tiny Wings, which was the Game of the Year and Where’s my Water, 25th billion downloaded app. Feel like going beyond them? Challenge with Skype is open; Viber is now available for OS X and Windows

With over 200 millions of users registered for mobile devices, Viber is a major threat for Skype and other VoIP applications. Until today, Skype always had the lead for computer calling, but the newly released Viber for OS X and Windows will surely give it a run for the money (Linux version is planned for a future release).

The newly released version for desktop is completely integrated with the mobile app. At the first log-in Viber will require your cellular number to verify the account and will require to update (not upgrading, nda) the mobile application first. No harassments about remembering passwords or emails; everything is directly connected with your number. Existing and new contacts & chats will be synchronized with all your devices and available everywhere either for calling or messaging.
